Mojito original recipe

Mojito originale

If you are organizing a party with friends, why not make mojito glasses yourself at home to entertain them? It is an easy and quick cocktail, with very inexpensive ingredients that you can make in just a few minutes. The mojito is a drink of Cuban origin that will surely do you good in summer thanks to its freshness and sparkling taste. Basically, it is a carbonated drink but can also be made without alcohol. It has several varieties including the fruit mojito (strawberry, raspberry, passion fruit, apple, etc.), milk mojito, in short it can be declined in several ways. In this article, I offer you the original recipe for the mojito, the basic mojito

INGREDIENTS

  • 5cl of rum
  • 5-7 fresh mint leaves
  • 6 cl of sparkling water
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 3 crushed ice cubes

PREPARATION

1

To prepare your mojito, you can do it directly in the glass. So, start by adding the mint leaves, obviously previously cleaned.

2

Then add the brown sugar. You can also use white sugar. Brown sugar in general is to give a little color to the preparation.

3

Then add the equivalent of 2cl or 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. You can also add cane sugar syrup (about 2cl) which is optional although important in terms of taste.

4

Then add the rum. You can use agricultural rum or industrial rum. It all depends on you.

5

Then crush the mint. This will allow it to be well infused with the other ingredients. Crush everything delicately. If you don't crush them, you can simply chop them roughly before adding to the preparation because after all, the aroma of mint often comes out quite easily.

6

Then add the ice cubes. In fact, it is advisable not to add crushed ice because it will quickly melt and dilute the taste of the mojito a little, but rather to break it roughly in a clean kitchen cloth with a rolling pin.

7

Add the sparkling water, stir gently with a spoon. You can replace the sparkling water with champagne, yes why not and there you will have another version of mojitos called royal mojito The quantities of the ingredients of the mojitos can vary however you must always respect the rule of the 3 S of the real mojito: Sweet, Sour and Strong. The Sweet for the sweet side especially through the sugar, the Sour for the bitter side through the mint, the lemon and the Strong for the strong side through the rum A small slice of lemon and it's ready! Enjoy Don't hesitate to like the recipe and especially to share it around you.
