Chocolate Chip Muffins

Muffins aux pépites de chocolat

Muffins are small classic cakes from Anglo-Saxon culture that are extremely easy to make. They come in sweet and savory flavors that are just as delicious, ideal for picnics, evenings with friends, parties, etc. Today I offer you the American recipe for soft, melting and fairly light chocolate chip muffins. It's an easy and quick recipe that you probably won't have any trouble making. So gather your ingredients and let's go!

INGREDIENTS

  • 170 g flour
  • 65g butter
  • 90 g sugar
  • 120 ml of milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 150 g chocolate chips
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch of bicarbonate
  • 1 spoonful of vanilla flavoring
  • 6 g baking powder

Total time

Preparation: 10 min Rest: – Cooking: 25 min

PREPARATION

1

In a bowl, sift the flour and yeast, then add the salt and stir with a spoon;

2

Then, in another bowl, pour the sugar and the egg then stir using a spatula;

3

Then add the milk, vanilla and butter melted in the microwave or in a bain-marie then mix;

4

Then pour the yeast, flour and salt mixture in three stages to avoid lumps and mix until you obtain a smooth dough then add ¾ of the chocolate chips and mix again; At this stage you must mix the two preparations delicately and lightly, this will ensure that at the end of cooking the muffins are well puffed up;

5

Place paper cases in a muffin pan or simply butter it and fill it ¾ full and add the rest of the chocolate chips on top. Fill with a piping bag to do it as cleanly as possible

COOKING

Bake at 200 degrees for 5 min then at 175 degrees for 15 min. To check the cooking, there are several ways to know if the chocolate chip muffins are cooked. Here are some of the most common methods: ♦ By using a toothpick or a knife blade to insert into the center of the muffin. If the blade comes out clean, it means that your muffins are cooked. ♦ By pressing lightly on the top of the muffin. If your muffins have a firm texture and do not collapse under pressure, they are cooked. ♦ By observing the color of the muffins. If they are cooked, they will have a nice golden color on top and will be a little elastic to the touch. Let your chocolate chip muffins cool before tasting them. Bon appétit!

Note:

There are possibilities to vary chocolate chip muffins. Yes, cooking is an art, why not have fun trying new things?! It is possible to use different flours to vary the texture of the muffins, such as chestnut flour. You can also play with the liquids used in the recipe, such as replacing half of the flour with applesauce or banana puree to add moistness and flavor. Yes, why not! It is also possible to use naturally sweet ingredients such as honey or maple syrup to reduce the amount of added sugar. Finally, you can also use alternative ingredients such as plant-based dairy products or egg substitutes to make the muffins more suitable for certain dietary restrictions.
